1/4 of the Weigh There

Today was my weigh in day, and I have to tell you its my favorite thing about Mondays. Most people dread Mondays, but when you make it your weigh in day it makes it so much better. As of the first of the year I have lost 10lbs. If you ask me I cant tell by looking at my body, I just feel it. I never thought in a million years that I could actually stick with something and make a dent in my weight and now I have. I am going to give you just a few ideas to maybe help you help yourself.

  1. Portion Control- this is by far the hardest thing for me to do. I love food, and I will eat till my brain and my tummy says "wow I am stuffed." But now I use a salad/dessert plate instead of a dinner plate, and when I make sandwiches I make myself a 1/2. You will eventually get use to it and your tummy with shrink.

  2. Water- is my favorite drink, if you were to ask me that would be my answer. I never drink soda even when we go out for dinner. If I get something to drink its a blueberry martini or something else without soda. I bought a new water bottle and its 24oz, and I refill it at least 3-4 times in one day.

  3. Sugar- I was eating so much candy from Halloween till Christmas and I am sure this is where I gained most of my weight. In fact I know it is. I don't eat sugar during the week unless its fruit and that doesn't count. I do how ever ALWAYS eat my sugar with some protein because it helps slow down the entering into the blood stream. I make my sugar free jello and put it in a pie pan, cut it like a pie and have a slice each night right after dinner.

  4. Alcohol- I have never been a boozer, and I don't really like drinking anyway. So this really does help. I have my wine every now and then and I love that. But I stay away from the hard stuff and the beer...that is unless its been awhile and then I have a little.

  5. White Grains- I haven't taken everything white out of my diet, but I try my damn hardest too. I make whole wheat pasta, I eat whole wheat bread, and I even make whole wheat pancakes on the weekend. Ask my husband...he hates wheat, he complains about it every time! He told me once "there a few things I like white, and that is my pasta and my pancakes." He calls whole wheat noodles cardboard. But I LOVE them!

So those are a few ideas. Now I also have taken to buying light this and light that. Take mayo for example, there is a 30cal difference from regular to light. Also Syrup for those whole wheat pancakes.
