My parents and I live about 230  miles away and we don't get to see each other that often. I was always my daddy's little girl even after my younger sister was born. But since moving out of the house and moving far away our relationship hasn't been the same as I would have liked it to stay, but today I got this email from him and I wanted to share it with you guys because it just made my day.
Dear Juju, Christ is Risen! (this is a Orthodox greeting after Pascha/Easter) I just wanted to send you a quick note to tell you how proud ( in the good sense of pride) I am of you in everything that you are doing...your photography skills, all this genealogy stuff, (my older sister and I are cracking the mystery of his Jewish side of the family) your great discipline in dealing with your PCOS by changing your diet, exercising, etc...Keep going kiddo.... I have always loved you, and always will!
PS.. Not that you didn't look great before, but you look great!
:-)

Hi I just dropped by from SITS.
ReplyDeleteThat's such a nice letter from your dad, I checked out your pictures for your before and after and he's right you look great!
I'm on a similar journey I guess, without the PCOS, I'm trying to become healthier so I can start trying for my second baby and I've lost 56lb so far, need to probably lose double that to be a healthy weight (sounds terrible when I write it down!) but I'll get there eventually.
Good Luck with your weight loss, you have done so well already!
Dropped by SITS....happy saturday sharefest. as a woman who just turned 59 yesterday and has struggled with her weight all her adult life...you need to tackle the problem when you're young because it just gets harder as you get older. so good for you! and it's great that you have a wonderful relationship with your father despite the distance. don't those kind of communications from folks you love just make your day? cherish them when you can get them.

How precious! I too am a Daddy's girl in every sense although when my Dad is home (he's currently working in Africa) he always have a way to irritate me and makes me scream from all his teasing and playfulness. Your post makes me miss my Dad.
ReplyDeleteHappy SITS Saturday Sharefest from Indonesia!
what a sweet note from your dad! :)
