Chapter Six

You maybe wondering why this post is titled Chapter Six. Well its simply because that's what chapter I am on in PCOS and Your Fertility by Collette Harris with Theresa Cheung. That's it. I wanted to rave about this book today for one reason, and that would be that I love it. Its been so helpful for me to read, this is my second book I have read about PCOS and this one is by far my favorite.

I read it at my husband hockey games if I am the only wife there, which happens a lot. And it was funny because last week I was there sitting next to some older guy and I was reading the section about sex and in big bold letters its says The Importance of Orgasm, and Satisfying Sex. Hahah I am guessing that if you have not read my blog before and this is the first post you see and all you see are the bold words you must be like wth (what the hell)? Well I am sure the guy next to me was thinking wth is she reading, a sex book. I wasn't, but I was reading about sex. You know I always blamed my low sex drive on PCOS, and boy was that a dumb idea. Because this book says that if you have a low sex drive its not from PCOS its probably from something else. I was shocked because I always blamed it on PCOS, I thought that it was a symptom. Ladies embrace your husbands and have sex, even when you might not want to. Because ladies "whether you have PCOS or not- sex is good for your health."

A Few Ways to Kick Start Your Sex Life
  • Eat healthy! A & B Vitamins, zinc and selenium are crucial for libido, as well exercise helps your mood and it makes you look damn hot.
  • Stress, figure out a way to boot it from your life.
  • Like my bff says "Its all in your head." and its true.
  • Remind yourself that no matter what he loves you, doesn't matter what you might be thinking all he is thinking is "boobies". So don't let that beautiful belly of yours or the extra hair you might have from PCOS get in the way.
  • Make time for love making, yes that might sound cheesy but I wasn't going to just say... okay I will Make time for hot steamy sex. Life gets busy, keep on having date nights.
  • Foods like Chocolate, figs, and ginger are thought to be an aphrodisiac because they contain libido boosting nutrients. Don't forget the nuts and oysters either.
  • To make a homemade massage oil combine 30 drops of sweet-almond oil, 5 drops of ylang-ylan, 4 drops of lavender, and 3 drops of jasmine. Or just go buy one, like I do!
