This post is dedicated not just for all green beer drinks, shamrock finders, and leprechaun searchers. You don’t have to be of Irish decent or even have red hair, because this post is for everyone even if you are Irish just for one day.
St. Patrick’s Day has always been one of my most favorite holidays there isn’t, not because I am like 7% Irish, but because it’s just plan ol’ fun. Today I shared in the joy of the day with 300+ children mostly all decked out in green or some kind of Patty’s Day paraphernalia. And I have to say… my day was great.
It was sunny, it was in the 40’s again, and I got off work a little early. Which made it possible for me to head up to the IL’s to get my ars kicked by the treadmill. I burned around 475 cals and was there for an hour. I think I am going to enjoy being able to power walk outside if the weather stays this way. Spring might just be on its way this time.
I shall leave you with an Irish Blessing
Dear Lord,
Give me a few friends
who will love me for what I am,
and keep ever burning
before my vagrant steps
the kindly light of hope...
And though I come not within sight
of the castle of my dreams,
teach me to be thankful for life,
and for time's olden memories
that are good and sweet.
And may the evening's twilight
find me gentle still.
